ChemSelf: Aplikasi Virtual Reality Berbasis AI untuk Sumber Belajar Mandiri Siswa
Abstract
This study aims to develop and evaluate ChemSelf, a Virtual Reality (VR) application integrated with Artificial Intelligence (AI) as an independent learning resource for high school chemistry students. The application was developed using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) and features immersive 3D molecular visualization, AI-powered adaptive quizzes, and a virtual chemistry laboratory. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group involving 60 students from two classes. The experimental group used ChemSelf for independent study, while the control group used conventional textbooks. Results showed that ChemSelf significantly improved students' conceptual understanding, with the experimental group achieving a mean post-test score of 82.4 compared to 68.7 for the control group. The N-gain analysis revealed a medium-high category (0.65) for the experimental group. Expert validation scores averaged 87.5% (very feasible), and usability testing showed 91.2% student satisfaction. These findings suggest that VR-based AI applications can effectively serve as independent learning resources in chemistry education.
